Super Nintendo – Replacing C59 on the SNSP-CPU-01

In this video we replace C59 on the PAL SNES mainboard SNSP-CPU-01. The only noticeable difference between the SNSP-CPU-01 and SNSP-CPU-02 is that the SNSP-CPU-02 has a bipolar / non-polar cap at C59. So we replace that lone capacitor in this video as all the others were replaced recently.

We also use the Hakko tweezers – incredible how well they worked! The solder pads must be fresh it appears, not good for leaked SMD capacitors… which is mostly what I deal with unfortunately. Enjoy the video as always! The whole repair took around 15 minutes, just enough time for my salmon to cook! 🙂
