We’ll be taking a proper look into Sega Dreamcast development hardware. I did not actually own a retail Dreamcast at this point. I did, however, own an HKT-0120 Dreamcast / Katana development box. Curious.

The HKT-0120 belongs to Sega’s later Set 5 development hardware and was designed to work with a host PC over SCSI as part of the Dreamcast development environment.

Before trying to make the unit useful again, I wanted a raw copy of the internal hard drive in case there were any goodies hiding on it. You know, potentially interesting development material. ;) The next videos will therefore focus on imaging that drive before I start making changes to the machine.
