The final backordered capacitors are installed and Sophia is reassembled.

Capacitor restoration completed: 28 April 2013.

The earlier A-Bus recap had not noticeably changed the fault.

Replacing the mainboard capacitors was the breakthrough, and completing the remaining capacitor work has now brought that phase of the restoration to an end.

Here’s to another 20 years!

This was not quite the end of the Sophia story.

My 171-6692B SH-2 CPU boards still lacked the power-header arrangement found on the better-documented 171-6692D boards, so I later made an appropriate power lead and continued investigating the development hardware.

But the long capacitor repair itself?

Done.
