I’ll give her the best clean I can and make her shine again.

The bigger problem is that this particular Sophia arrived without its SH-2 processor boards.

The Sophia development hardware uses removable SH-2 processor cards rather than soldering both Saturn CPUs directly onto the mainboard like a retail console.

Surviving development-hardware documentation shows that Programming Boxes could be configured with SH-2 cards and other development modules depending on what the developer needed. A two-SH-2 configuration provides the two processor paths expected by normal Saturn software.

Mine currently has neither processor card, so there is a limit to how far I can test it until I find suitable replacements.

If anyone has compatible Sophia SH-2 boards lying around, I’d be more than happy to take them off your hands and see how far she gets.

I’ll post much better photos once everything has been cleaned properly.

This eventually turned into a much larger restoration project. I later found compatible SH-2 cards and spent a good part of 2013 bringing the Sophia hardware back together.
