It looks like I’ve been lucky enough to pick up a copy from the limited ASSEMbler community reproduction run of the unreleased Geist Force prototype.

Geist Force was never commercially released by Sega. The surviving unfinished Dreamcast build was preserved through the ASSEMbler community, with additional work required to make the prototype usable on normal retail Dreamcast hardware.

So this isn’t an official late Sega release. It is a community preservation and reproduction project built around an unfinished game prototype.

ASSEMbler himself certainly put a lot of work into this, as did the other people involved in getting the project into people’s hands.

Kudos to everyone over there!

I should have a copy to play, or perhaps simply behold, in another 60-odd days or so.

If I were ASSEMbler right now I’d be going crazy looking at all those copies that still need to be shrink-wrapped and posted out.
