What you see is what you get. Phantasy Star IV running through the XRGB-mini Framemeister, with me wandering around the academy and trying to work out where I’m supposed to be going. Somewhere along the way I started wondering whether future videos should involve silly British accents over games instead of yet another repair demonstration!
I’m using a Mega Drive 2, which I’d repaired a couple of months earlier after some trouble with its DC-in board. The controller is a Mega Stick, mainly because I couldn’t be bothered unpacking a regular one. It’s quite enjoyable until I walk into somebody or a wall, and the rapid-fire setting seems particularly keen on opening menus when I least expect it.
By this point I’d finally sorted out the RGB21 versus EuroSCART adapter wiring and the various Mega Drive sync experiments, so this is less of a technical test and more of a chance to actually enjoy the result. The Framemeister really does produce a lovely picture from the Mega Drive.
Unfortunately, I have since sold it on. I hope somebody somewhere is putting it to good use! At least I produced far too many videos about it first.
