The 5.25-inch floppy drive now living in the Osborne came from the Wyse 286 desktop I had a quick look at earlier.

The Wyse isn’t mine anymore because someone else wanted it.

All I really needed was the floppy drive anyway.

It is always a little disappointing when an eBay seller sends out an untested drive described as working but sold as-is.

If it doesn’t work, don’t list it as working.

What can you do?

At least I now have one functioning 5.25-inch floppy drive in the Osborne.

Which reminds me, I also picked up a huge pile of old PCI and ISA cards, plus various other bits and pieces, from someone south of the border who has become a very good source of retro PC hardware.

One particularly useful surprise was a PDS Ethernet card for the LC 475.

Precisely what I needed for the LC 475 I happen to own.

It will even cover the gap where the missing expansion-slot cover should have been.

Then I just need to find a less rusty power supply and repair the broken PSU retaining clips so the thing stops rattling around.
