Osborne 486 5.25″ Floppy Drive Addition

The floppy drive that now powers this unit was taken from the Wyse 286 desktop I had a quick peek at earlier. It’s no longer mine though as someone else wanted it. All I really needed was the 5.25″ floppy drive. It’s sad when eBay sellers flog you junk drives that they haven’t tested and claim it is working but is sold as-is. If it doesn’t work, don’t list it. But what can you do? At least I have one working 5.25″ floppy drive now.

Which reminds me, I picked up a huge lot of old PCI and ISA cards as well as some bits and bobs from a fellow south of the border. He has been a very good source for some of my retro PC gear. What was also interesting in one of the six lots is that there was a PDS ethernet card for an LC 475… Precisely what I needed for the LC 475 I happen to own. Plus it will cover up the gap where the card cover should have been. Then I’ll just need to source a less rusted PSU and superglue some of the PSU clips into place so it doesn’t rattle around.
