I’ve finally made some time to configure my blog. Now I’ll have to start the arduous task of importing and tidying up posts from the past. For the moment they’ll all be text. There’s no time for images just yet. I’ve decided to give Markdown a try and a flat file system instead of using a database like MySQL coupled with WordPress.
I did have a look into a few WordPress alternatives that were flat, such as FlatPress, but was far too complicated for me to craft up a suitable theme. There sure was a lot of bloat. This little package I am using now is called “Dropplets”. Sure it’s got a few bugs here and there, but for the most part it seems to be working. Did I mention this post was authored with GNU Nano? Way past cool, right?
