Here’s my prized Nixie clock from Chronix, which I picked up a few months ago. I thought I’d throw a video online showing its slot-machine-style anti-cathode-poisoning routine. It rapidly cycles through the digits so cathodes that do not normally get much display time are periodically lit as well.

It also looks pretty cool while doing it.

I should have some more photos and documentation up this weekend.

Update 23rd April 2013: I replaced the NiCad battery in this clock with a NiMH cell. See my other videos for the swap! It worked successfully in this particular clock, but a NiCd-to-NiMH replacement is not automatically safe in every piece of equipment. Suitability depends on the charging circuit, charge current and replacement cell.
