February 2020

Big Fish is back! On the 9th February 2020, we’re catching up with Trevor, the Australian eel-tailed catfish (Tandanus tandanus). Trevor was one of the friendliest fish I’ve ever known, and always a pleasure to visit. Just over a week later, and Big Fish is avoiding the camera! Trevor had... Continue reading

Happy New Year, Slinky! It’s the 6th January 2020 and we’re back to visit our friend Slinky, the Senegal bichir (Polypterus senegalus). After all the hiding places and bubble adventures towards the end of 2019, it’s nice to start another year with a familiar face. Slinky had become quite a... Continue reading

When I named my YouTube channel RetroJunkie2020 back on 11th March 2012… Hey! That’s almost eight years ago!… I never would have thought the channel would survive that long. It’s been with me for longer than most things in my life and I am very thankful for that. Thank you,... Continue reading

You’ve got to love the community! I picked up an Xbox OG or three from Hex of ASSEMbler Games a few years back, while it was not busy being defunct, and from memory I think he threw in a bonus Xbox! Amazing guy! If you somehow see this, thanks Hex!... Continue reading

Controller sockets losing their connection, is there anything worse? You’re in the middle of a slam dunk or a race car race and wham! No response and you slam into the backboard or into the wall! Game over man… until now! Today we have a peek at the Nintendo 64... Continue reading

My old Sony PSP-1000 has been giving me a bit of trouble with its buttons, particularly the switch mechanism on the replacement PCB. I figured replacing the whole board would be easier than trying to replace an individual switch. After all, the replacement was only a couple of dollars. What... Continue reading

Here’s EarthBound (1995) on the SNES, at the character select screen. Incredible game that I cannot recommend enough. Earth Defense Force (1991) SNES. This game is amazing with scanlines. But nothing good ever seems to last forever. Above is my glorious SD2SNES working as it should, listing the games on... Continue reading

The Kasumi Xbox of awesomeness! Such an incredible shade of blue, and now full of so many cool upgrades. Released back into the wild a while back, it still lives on in my memory and in this video. This is the lovely Dead or Alive Ultimate Kasumi Blue Xbox, and... Continue reading
