Today we have a little chat about the original Xbox PSU and how to swap one. The important bit is that “Xbox PSU” does not mean one universal interchangeable part. Versions 1.0 and 1.1 use the earlier 12-pin connector, 1.2 to 1.4 use a 20-pin arrangement, and 1.6 uses the same connector shape as those later boards with a different pinout. Match the PSU to the motherboard revision rather than assuming that a plug which fits is electrically compatible. This is mains-powered hardware too, so the usual PSU safety rules apply.
