Welcome back to the community tank! It’s the 6th January 2020 and we’re taking a look at the Juwel Rio 125 aquarium from a distance. Todd the Cod, Slinky, Plankers, Whiskers and the other friends have certainly made this a rather lively little place over the years. Sometimes it’s nice to step back and enjoy the whole aquarium instead of concentrating on just one particular fish. There’s always someone doing something!
Two weeks later, it’s time for a visit to the BioPod! Guppy madness! Well, Endler’s livebearers, to be more precise. These little fish are closely related to guppies, and there’s certainly no shortage of activity when you’ve got a group of them swimming about. The BioPod was a separate aquarium from the community tank, with its own water conditions to keep an eye on. Between the colourful fish and trying to keep everything running properly, there was certainly plenty to occupy my time!
Back to the community tank on the 27th January for an inspection! There’s always something to look at when several different types of fish are sharing an aquarium. Plants, hiding places, decorations and, somewhere amongst all of that, the fish themselves! Sometimes the most interesting part of keeping an aquarium is simply stopping for a while and seeing what’s happening inside it.
Fast forward to the 19th February 2020 and it’s feeding frenzy time in the BioPod! Endler’s livebearers everywhere! I do enjoy watching these little fish, particularly when food is involved. There’s something entertaining about a group of small, colourful fish that makes it very easy to lose track of time while you’re watching them. Super guppies indeed!
And we’ve got more Endler’s feeding from the same day! Between the community aquarium and the BioPod, the first couple of months of 2020 gave me plenty of opportunities to visit everyone and keep filming. If you’d like to see where the BioPod story started, have a look at The BioPod Tank and Endler’s Livebearers!. There’s also The Community Tank Adventures! for more from Todd, Slinky, Plankers, Whiskers and friends.
