It’s feast time for Sprinkles and Pudding! Or Tillie and Pudge, if we’re using their more familiar names. The two little green-cheeked conures have been settling into their new home throughout January, and apparently a good meal is another excellent excuse for a bird adventure.

I’ve been offering them a bit of everything, including apple, carrot, beans, strawberry and grapes, while trying to convince them to eat some fruit instead of filling up on seeds. There are pellets on offer too, although the birds seem much more interested in finding ways to drop things. One bit of food ended up on my arm. Thanks a lot, silly bird!

The fun doesn’t stop there, either. Between investigating the food and flicking pieces around, they’ve managed to send some of it straight at me. I even ended up with something in my eye! Apparently I’m just as much a part of the feeding experiment as the birds are.

With toys to attack, places to climb and snacks to investigate, the pair certainly haven’t been short of things to do. Today it’s the food taking centre stage. Enjoy your feast, you two little turkeys!
