Sadly, this repair attempt did not succeed.

The console is serial 02-27430367-2452398-CECHG02.

At the time I was trying the sort of YLOD repair approaches that were circulating widely, but the failed attempt does not establish what was actually wrong with this PS3.

YLOD is a general failure symptom.

Without the console’s SYSCON error history, I do not have enough surviving diagnostic information to identify the underlying fault now.

Modern SYSCON-based diagnosis can distinguish many very different failure modes that all end with a similar shutdown symptom.

So this remains what it was:

an unsuccessful repair attempt.
