I cloned the BIOS configuration across my two XTIDE cards, so it probably shouldn’t have been a surprise that the second one worked. Still, I wasn’t sure how the Model 3 would behave with its original-style hard drive arrangement still installed. It behaved perfectly. Like a gentleman and a scholar.

That means both my Model 2 and Model 3 TeraDrives can now use XTIDE storage. The Model 3 originally shipped with a 30 MB internal hard drive, while the Model 2 had no hard disk at all. XTIDE gives me a much easier route to modern ATA storage and makes me far less dependent on finding surviving examples of the proprietary 44-pin power-and-data drives used by the original Model 3 setup.

I have personally confirmed IBM WDL-330P drives working in the TeraDrive. WDL-330PS drives have also been reported in surviving machines, but I have not confirmed that variant firsthand.

Fresh date and time batteries, modern storage options and both machines booting properly. Hopefully nothing else will go wrong! Fingers crossed! :D
