The glorious Apple //c monochrome monitor. Compact. Solid. Heavy. Beefcake. These are the words used to describe this beast. We go ahead and adjust some settings on the yoke with a near-enough, good-enough mentality. We’re not perfectionists here, that’s for sure! I’ve no idea where this particular monitor originally came... Continue reading

I could watch this little guy zoom around for hours on end. Slinky loves it when the bubbles are powered up! Go Slinky go! Slinky is a Senegal Bichir (Polypterus senegalus). Powered by lungs and gills, Slinky does all the things that make the other fish look lazy! Continue reading

Incredible! I had always wondered how Nintendo got away with such a compact controller compared with the likes of Microsoft and their giant rumbling controller. Who would have thought they used both contact pads and cables! (Why didn’t I just delete this footage?) Have you ever wondered what’s inside a... Continue reading

Here’s a whole bunch of circuit-bending footage I found from what feels like a different life, way back in August 2016. Sonic 3 seemed much less willing to fall apart under the particular bends I tried, while Sonic 1 just goes with the flow, slapping a glitch here and a... Continue reading

And this video concludes the six-part Xbox DVT4 series. What a ride it has been! With the 120 GB SSD installed and UnleashX running, I thought it was about time to make use of some of that extra storage. Xbox Partitioner 1.3 was the next thing to investigate, although it... Continue reading

Sometimes I leave the raw footage for these videos sitting on my computer way too long. This DVT4 series dates back to early 2019 and, by the time I edited it, I couldn’t remember what half of the clips were supposed to demonstrate. This one is a perfect example. I... Continue reading

With the DVT4 restored to XDK 5849, I wanted to update it to build 5933. I’d originally been looking for another recovery disc, but it turned out that this particular update could be installed over the network instead. Much more interesting! Unfortunately, I wasn’t having much luck getting the tools... Continue reading

We haven’t done a Cooking with segment in quite some time. As you can see not much has changed. I do miss the days of simpler cooking where we could just dump a bunch of choc chips into custard or cover a sugared cinnamon doughnut in more sugar and call... Continue reading

This video steps us through one of the finer things in life, factory restoring a DVT4 using an XDK Recovery 5849 DVD-R that I’d burnt from an ISO found on the internet. You might say that isn’t one of the finer things in life at all! Well, you’re wrong. With... Continue reading

For the 120GB Western Digital SSD upgrade, I moved to an 80-conductor, 40-pin ATA cable to reduce the likelihood of transfer errors. I opted for a 24” version because I wasn’t sure whether there’d be any difference in the innards between the DVT4 and my Kasumi Blue retail Xbox. Turns... Continue reading

At long last, I return! This video kicks things off in what ended up becoming a six-parter. Over the next few videos we’ll be stepping through how to upgrade, or replace, the hard drive of an Xbox DVT4. The steps should be pretty similar on the DVT3 as far as... Continue reading

Welcome back to the community tank! We’re in Halloween season now, starting on the 27th October 2019, and we’ve got another look at our little underwater neighbourhood. This was filmed in the Juwel Rio 125 aquarium, complete with a collection of inhabitants. There’s always something happening when you’ve got several... Continue reading
