Back to the Aiwa Game Unit and the damage left behind from my earlier BIOS removal.

Installing a socket is the easy part.

Repairing the damaged PCB connections underneath it took considerably more time.

I traced the BIOS connections back one by one and repaired the damaged tracks.

Continuity now checks correctly between the expected points and I am not seeing shorts between them.

That is excellent news.

It means the socket and trace work are ready for the next stage of testing.

The catch?

I still need the boombox side of the CSD-GM1 to be functional enough to power and test the complete system.

More repairs on the way!
