We’ve found ourselves at the local nursery with a Little Corella (Cacatua (Licmetis) sanguinea)! This was before I owned parrots, but apparently I was already quite happy to stand around filming them. First up, a bit of slow motion! This little bird isn’t so little up close but watching it do a head bob is amusing enough at normal speed, but slowed right down? Even better! Just wait for it!

Let’s speed it back up to a regular-speed version of the same head-bobbing performance. Now we can see those movements without the slow-motion treatment. I don’t know what the corella was thinking, but it certainly made for entertaining footage. Quite a performance for a trip to the nursery!

More head bobbing and head-shaking gestures from our little (well… large) feathered friend. Looking back at these recordings from before I had parrots of my own, perhaps my interest in these ridiculous birds wasn’t quite as sudden as it might have seemed!
