What parts are currently inside?

Let’s have a peek!

This 486 has gradually become my go-to machine for older ISA hardware.

At the centre of it is an IntelDX4 OverDrive running at 100 MHz.

More importantly for the projects I am working on right now, it has the ISA slots needed for some increasingly strange development hardware.

The Cross Products SNASM2 card and Mega-CD emulation hardware had been awkward on some of the newer systems I tried.

This humble 486DX4-100?

Works a charm.

Add the Gravis UltraSound and it starts looking less like a random pile of old expansion cards and more like a fairly serious period development workstation.

The video above is therefore a useful snapshot of the machine just as it was becoming the PC side of my Sega Mega-CD development setup.

Funny how the older computer ended up being the more useful one.
